At the Advent we meet and welcome youth where they are, encouraging their questions and challenging them to discover God’s presence in the world and in their lives.
We welcome you to get acquainted with our Episcopal Youth Community.

Sunday Night EYC
The Episcopal Youth Community meets at the Gym in the Parish and Community Life Center for our weekly EYC gathering Sunday nights. This is a time of fun, fellowship, games, and scripture. We hope that you will join us:
High School: 4 – 5:15 p.m.
Middle School: 6:15 – 7 p.m.
Weekdays
Weekly Prayer Breakfasts
During the school year, our youth minister meets middle and high school students for breakfast and a devotional before school. Please have your student prepared to purchase their meal. Transportation is available to school following breakfast for students who have submitted their liability form for the current school year.
High School: Tuesday at 7:15 a.m.
Middle School: Thursday at 7:00 a.m.
Bible Study
Boy’s Bible Study:
Each Wednesday after school, the Episcopal Church of the Advent and First Presbyterian Church partner together to facilitate a Middle School Boy’s Bible Study. Most weeks the Bible Study alternates between locations at the Advent and First Pres. There are some weeks the boys have met for a nature walk at SPACE – Cottonwood Trail. Other weeks they have visited local community recreational centers such as C.C. Woodson to engage with our community.
During each Bible Study, there is always a game of basketball to be played as well as a designated time to open up a Bible and read scripture in context and to discover how it applies to our lives today. Transportation from school to the location of the week is always provided. Each study ends at 5 p.m. and we ask that each student has transportation home. Girl’s Bible Study:
Each Wednesday evening from 6-7 pm, the Episcopal Church of the Advent and First Presbyterian Church partner together to facilitate a Middle School Girl’s Bible Study. We meet at Starbucks in downtown Spartanburg. Transportation to and from the study is not provided. If you would like to get involved please email eyc@churchofadvent.org
