Lenten Liturgy Notes Everything seemed to be going so well on Saturday,
January 9. Ellen, the children and I had been home for a week after a wonderful
Christmas holiday with family in Virginia. The trip had been preceded by a
joyful and joy-filled Christmas Eve trio of services at the Advent. Upon our
return, it felt as though 2010 was getting off to a great start with a nice
Epiphany service, the first Wednesday dinner, and the combined kick-off of two
new weekday programs, the Adult Inquirers' Class and the Clergy Bible Study,
which all took place on January 6. It was now Saturday at around 8am and I was playing one of my best
games of basketball in a long time.
